New Generation of Current Balancing Technology

New Generation of Current Balancing Technology
 Design Theory

A balance control circuit of fluorescent tube is provided, where the circuit cascades a plurality of high precision, high impedance, and high voltage capacitors on each tube. Due to the capacitive reactance of the high voltage capacitors is several times larger than the equivalent impedance of the tube, the current variation of the tube will be reduced, where the significant current variation is caused by the equivalent impedance of the tube. That is to say, the balance control circuit utilizes a high impedance, high precision, and high voltage capacitor to make the variation of the equivalent impedance of the tube to be ignorable, so as to achieve the goal of stabilizing and balancing the current of the fluorescent tube.

Application

The main purpose for this C-balance application is to reduce the cost for lamp balance. Recently, the most popular solution was to use one transformer driving one lamp or one transformer driving two lamps, but currently it is using the Super-LIPS with L-balance solution instead. Each of the BOM cost of them are higher than the cost of C-balance. Therefore, using the C-balance as a current balance solution will surely be more profitable.

Features

A. Better for the lamps current balance
It could control the lamps current tolerance within 0.6 mA. in compliance with lamp application specification.

B. Perfect output waveform :

The waveform of voltage and current are similar to SINE wave which will prolong lamps service life.

C. Better illuminative efficiency:

The waveform closing to SINE wave, it will improve the lamps illuminative efficiency.

D. Smeller PCB dimension:

Smaller the PCB dimension, Saving space.

C-balance

L-balance

Cost Advantage

Comparing to L-Balance，less number of components are used on C-Balance module, and reducing the size of PCB as well; therefore, the overall cost could be reduced by about 50%。
